I signed up for Jefferey Gitomer's Sales Caffeine in 2003.  Every Tuesday I receive the weekly version from Mr. Gitomer.  If you are not familiar with Jeffrey Gitomer, I suggest you Google him and go to his website and sign up for his weekly column.  They say nothing is free but his weekly column is free!  It is full of useful nuggets, just like the useful nugget I refer to in this blog post.  The title of this week's column was, "All Airlines are the Same, Except for Their People".   I would like to use the basis of this article to set up my latest blog.

Customer Loyalty is King!

I have a question...  Who pays you for the work you do?  Is it the president, CEO, or owner of the company you work for?   Or is it the customers that your company has aquired that pays you?  The fact is that without customers not even the owner gets paid.  So, what is the best way to attract customers?  In my opinion the best way to attract customers and maintain customers is through great customer service.

Providing Sealing Solutions: Medical Devices

One of the greatest satisfactions in our industry (any industry for that matter) is to help solve an issue for a customer.  A trendy word for an issue a customer has is to refer to it as their "Pain".  I tend to think in more positive terms, and consider opportunities to solve issues as a way to help my customer increase their sales revenues and profits.  Lets be honest, this is the reason to be in business, right?  Another term that I don't like is, "what keep the customer up at night?".  I prefer to seek out the answer to why do they get up in the morning?  Maybe the answer is the same but again, I like to think positive.  This leads me to a couple of examples I can share regarding personal experiences I have had with helping a customer solve a sealing concern.  Both examples involved the medical industry and medical devices.

AS9100 - ISO9001 Quality Management Systems Certified Fabricator & Distributor

I recently read that more than 32,000 companies Quality Management Systems are certified to the IS0-9001 certification.  Of the more than 32,000 companies, United Seal & Rubber would be included within that list.  Taking the ISO9001 certification to the next level, and only about 1/3 as many companies have achieved the AS9100 certification as well.  Again, United Seal & Rubber is included on that list.  So, what does all of this IS0-9001 and AS9100 certification talk mean to you, our customers or potential customer?

Crown Bumper Systems for Drilling Rigs

Why is someone who is out of Atlanta GA writing a blog about Crown Bumpers that are used on drilling rigs?  The answer is two fold...  One, I spent a few years living in Mississippi and learned to appreciate the oil & gas market.  I spent quite a bit of time traveling the great states of Louisiana and Texas and had the great pleasure of meeting folks who worked in the energy, oil and gas market.  I made friends with folks who would spend weeks away from their families working on rigs.  Big sacrifices are made on the parts of folks who work in this industry.  Two, we are a Parker distributor and I'm always interested and excited when Parker or any of our supplier has new product offerings.  This brings me to the topic of today's blog; Parker's Crown Bumper System.
